A New Mirror Lake Record: 36.2kg (79.8lb)!
Lake Pelagićevo in Bosnia continues to cement its reputation as one of Europe’s premier big-carp waters, and this year has been nothing short of phenomenal. The latest headline: a brand-new mirror lake record of 36.2kg (79.8lb)—a milestone catch landed in November by the incredibly talented Joachim Andersen from peg 25. Massive congratulations, Joachim! We’re absolutely chuffed for you.

The action didn’t stop there. Throughout the year, plenty of 30kg-plus carp have graced anglers’ nets, adding to the impressive run of captures this venue produces week after week. Back in August, Ivan landed a stunning 31.5kg leather carp, smashing his PB in style. Then, in September, one lucky angler caught a massive 33.4kg leather carp—one of the biggest, if not the biggest, leather carp in the world today.
A Record-Breaking Season for Big Carp
This year has been exceptional at Pelagićevo, with over 200 carp over 20kg now chipped, and 9 carp chipped over 30kg—a testament to years of careful management and the lake’s incredible growth potential.
Just in one week alone this year, the tally included:
- 18 carp over 20kg
- 3 carp over 25kg
- 1 carp over 30kg
The lake is producing big fish with impressive consistency, and every session seems to deliver something special.

Even better—young carp are showing rapid growth, and the lake owner confirms a few more carp from the stock pond will be added, continuing the focus on quality genetics and long-term development. Regular maintenance and improvements will also be carried out as usual, ensuring Pelagićevo remains a top-tier venue for years to come.
